Supporting Our Immigrant Communities in Los Angeles

Everyone deserves safety, dignity, and due process. In recent times though, this foundational idea has been challenged. Due process and protection against cruel and unusual punishment are constitutional rights extended to all people in the United States, even those who have an immigration status that is considered “illegal.” However, an immigration system that uses active-duty military forces, masked agents and makes warrantless arrests violates the bedrock principles on which this nation was founded.

Thousands of people in Los Angeles County have been detained over the last several months. The circumstances of their detention have been cruel and the conditions have been described as unhealthy and inhumane.

The use of active duty military forces in Los Angeles, an expansion of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center and sending immigrants to countries where they are not from and have never been to, is alarming.

Best in Nature supports a country where people have equal rights regardless of race or national origin. So we support the work of and donate to the Immigrant Defender’s Law Center. This organization composed of immigration lawyers and advocates protects our immigrant communities against injustices in the immigration system. Donations allow them to provide FREE legal services to those in need and their work is more important now than it ever has been. Learn more about their work and consider donating here.
